Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Salt Lake City area.
Salt Lake City is the capital of Utah, the world center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons), home of the largest genealogical research facility in the world, and one of the country's top skiing and golfing destinations. A great vacation destination for the outdoor enthusiast, Salt Lake City offers outstanding alternatives for hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, hunting and boating. The downtown area alone hosts more than 20 art galleries and several of the area's more popular bed and breakfast inns, the rest scattered around the valley area outside of town, a theatre hosting major live productions, a great planetarium and a major zoo. Although taverns and pubs serving beer and wine are public, along with the better restaurants that serve liquor with food, all cocktail lounges not serving food are for members only and require member sponsorship for all new members, which for out of town visitors usually translates to something like a $5. cover charge for a two week temporary
membership. Salt Lake City has a great range of fine restaurants, from micro breweries to ethnic venues to top of the line continental fare.
